Overview
Highlights
The LIC Annuity Committee Meeting is a chance for executives from small-to-midsize life insurance companies and fraternals, and relevant service providers, to get together in a unique peer networking meeting. Join us to learn, share your thoughts, and get feedback from other small companies involved in selling annuities.
Collin Davidson, Principal & Consulting Actuary, Milliman, will lead a discussion on Exploring RILA and VA Synergies Through Integrated Hedging/Risk Management
Bruce Friedland, Principal of Friedland Consulting Services, will give updates on principle-based reserves for fixed annuities (VM-22) and the actuarial guideline (AG) dealing with asset adequacy testing on business using offshore reinsurance. The AG is moving quickly and there will be requirements in place for year end 2025. This will impact companies selling asset intensive business (like fixed annuities, PRT) using offshore reinsurance options (possibly captives also).
Katy Hylkema, Assistant Vice President of Customer Experience, who oversees Product Marketing, Product Development, and Customer Experience at GBU Life, will be presenting on the Defined Benefit Annuity launch targeted for Gen Z.
Other discussion topics will be selected by the registrants, including direct to consumer model for annuity sales, new product development, and increasing efficiency of transfer/exchange requests.
